Defective Drug - PPA
The drug phenylpropanolamine (PPA) is used as an ingredient in many common over-the-counter and prescription cough and cold medicines (such as Robitussin and Alka-Seltzer). Recent studies have shown that taking PPA can increase the risk of hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding into the brain or into tissue surrounding the brain). The FDA is currently taking steps to remove all products containing this drug from the market. A comprehensive list of the most popular over-the-counter products that contain PPA is provided.
If you or someone you love took PPA or if you would like more information on the drug, please email us at info@littlepagelaw.com
